Composition & Poetry Competition


Composers Concordance a 42 year-old organization that has presented countless events in New York and around the world, announces its first annual Joseph Pehrson Composition & Poetry Competition.
Composers are invited to submit a 3-minute work for solo oboe, clarinet, saxophone or bassoon.
Poets are invited to submit a 1-minute poem on any subject.
Winning composers will have their works professionally performed on June 12th, 2026 as part of Composers Concordance ‘Readings & Reeds’ event at Jim Kempner Fine Arts Gallery in NYC.
Poets based in the New York area will be invited to read their poems at this event; out-of-town poets will have their work presented by members of Composers Concordance Murderers' Row of Poets.
Rules
All submission are due May 10th, 2026 (by end of day)
Compositions — 3-minute maximum, for solo oboe, clarinet, saxophone, or bassoon.
Poems — 1-minute maximum, any subject.
Open to all ages and free to enter.
