About:
Composers Concordance, a presenting organization for contemporary music with a 32-year history of cutting-edge concert programming in NYC, announces a call for scores.
The event's theme is 'Generations,' and will feature the music of Sean Hickey, Melissa Grey, Dan Cooper, Gene Pritsker, Igor Vorobyov, Daniel Schnyder, Faye-Ellen Silverman, and Craig Pallett, as well as two competition winners: one composer age 25 or younger, and another composer age 65 or older.
The program will be performed by The CompCord Guitar Quartet, featuring Oren Fader, Greg Baker, Jay Kauffman, and Nadav Lev. Competition winners are required to attend the concert, which will be held on April 22nd at 7:30pm at Goddard Riverside's Bernie Wohl Center, 647 Columbus Avenue, (between 91st and 92nd Streets.)
Guidelines:
All application materials must be received by April 1st, 2017;
No entry fee;
Two categories:
a. composers age 25 or younger [ie. as of April 22nd, 2017]
b. composers age 65 or older [ie. as of April 22nd, 2017]
Music should be scored for Guitar Quartet [ie. 4 nylon-string acoustic guitars]
OR any subset thereof [ie. solos, duos, trios fine too]
Duration at most 5 minutes; only 1 entry per applicant please;
